Back From the Mountain

Easter morning in the Sacramento Mountains
We packed up early for our trip down the mountain before hitting the Grand View Trail for a last hike in the high country.  We ran into two other outdoor enthusiasts, a big German man with an aggressive dog on a lead, and a woman runner.  Bumped into the German guy twice.  The second time, he said, "I'm sorry.  My dog doesn't get along with other dogs."  At least the man had his hound on a leash.  We enjoyed our brief sojourn in the Sacramentos, and now we're back in the lower desert where the temps are in the mid- to upper-80s.  It can only get hotter from here.

I will especially miss the aroma of the Fragrant Ash trees on this trail. By the time we get up to the mountains again, they probably won't still be blooming.
