A Solo with Willow

Tortugas and the Organs
Dr. K volunteered to participate in the "Girls Can" event sponsored by the American Association of University Women this morning so it was Willow and me on the daily trek.

We did our usual route plus a bit extra when I realized, upon reaching our favorite Torrey Yucca in Right Branch Arroyo, that I forgot yet again to take phone photos of the Claret Cup Cactus flowers I had already photographed with my camera; so we doubled back to get those pics.

Again I was surprised that the Claret Cup was blossoming on such an overcast day, and when we got up into the right branch I was equally surprised to discover another hedgehog starting to flower.  Usually the blossoms don't open unless it's sunny out.
