Fawn in Forest

1st 2:  noticeably less smoke this morning

We took a hike in the forest behind the cabin this morning and we had a surprise encounter with a Mule Deer fawn who was asleep in a spot that happened to coincide with our bushwhacking path as we descended from the mountaintop.

Unfortunately we spooked the critter and when it jumped up to run Willow chased after it.  We were able to call her back, but not before she scared the bejesus out of the deer.  I could hear her squeal in terror as she fled.  Hopefully she didn't get too far away from the place her mother had left her.
