Close Encounter of the Basset Kind

Yucca and mountains early morning
Dr. K, Willow and I did our regular hike on a frigid morning; even though the sun shone brightly the temp was 37F and the wind was whipping; it's a wonder we decided to do the entire trek.  We spotted the crow couple that has been in our area for years (pictured, poorly, below).  On the drive out on the upper flatland road we encountered Mrs. Basset and her hounds, two of which were very close to the road we use to reach Tellbrook; no cause for concern, though, because we drove carefully and the two Bassets listened to their mother and stayed away from our vehicle.
