Can't beat the weather Becca and I experienced this morning, nor the lovely vistas. Here's a Yucca blooming along the west foothills trail.

Quite a difference between green Washington D.C. and the desert, but I still love it here. Here's why.

Old Honest Abe looked a little pale.

We visited the black wall of the Vietnam Memorial.

There I found the name of a good friend who was killed in the war at age 19: Patrick M. Hagerty.

It is an impressive monument to the 58,000+ war dead.

More Washington

We got to see the First Rabbit, aka BOTUS: Bunny of the United States.

And the First Family.

We had an audience with the President. Actually, we were behind an audience who had an audience with the Prez. Barack Obama reads Green Eggs and Ham to children.

Michele Obama also read to the kids.

All of the children--well, all but a few--gave the President and First Lady their rapt attention.

Packrat and Dr. K Go To Washington

Yes, it's true, Dr. K and Packrat visited the nation's capitol. Here's proof: Dr. K with President Obama.

Packrat also met the Prez.

We marvelled at the beauty of the capitol building.

We looked around for the activist judges at the Supreme Court, but couldn't find them.

And we had a swell picnic with loved ones.

More Evidence of Spring

In addition to the aggravating spring winds, there are lots of flowers. Like these on a Claret Cup Cactus.
Becca isn't looking for blossoms.

We've found more, nonetheless.
