When I was growing up in northeastern Ohio I had little appreciation for the rain because it rained so much there, often ruining much-anticipated outings: picnics, golf, etcetera.
But when you live in the Chihuahuan Desert you often pray for rain. And when it comes it's such a relief, like the flowering of a really colorful idea.

All of these photos are beautiful, but I especially like the flowers.
An especially striking set of images, today, Packrat.
Thanks for the location of the High Rolls. When I vacationed in New Mexico in March a few years ago, I stayed two days in Ruidoso and had a chance to do one hike in the Lincoln National Forest.
And, last but not least, I, too, grew up in northeast Ohio--the city of Garfield Heights just southeast of Cleveland.
Thanks, Scott.
Youngstown man, myself.
The photos of the flowers are gorgeous!
