Mule Deer browsing in the desert |
We were fortunate this morning to see two small herds of Mule Deer in the desert just west of Tortugas Mountain. While they were leery of us, only one individual was spooked by our presence, and that doe went bouncing along like a rabid kangaroo. Most of them monitored our behavior while alternately munching on tender desert foilage. We saw no fawns in the herd.
