Hiking on Hump Day

Jackrabbit camouflage
It was hot on the trail this morning; nevertheless, Becca and I did a long hike.  There was very little wind to aid in evaporative cooling, but it's supposed to get gusty this afternoon.  We saw nobody in the outback during our trek--nobody, that is, except Jackrabbits and birds.  They're somebodies, after all.  Many of the Prickly Pear Cacti are coming into full bloom, a beautiful sight in the Chihuahuan Desert.
