The Chilling Wind

On the road that circles Tortugas Mountain
It was 30 F with a wind chill of 22 F when Dr. K, Becca and I struck out for Tortugas (Tortoise) Mountain.  Even though it was partly sunny the persistent wind had quite a bite to it, so much so that we shortened the hike by several miles.  We only saw two other people out this morning:  two runners who were making their way counterclockwise around Tortugas.  Despite the raw conditions we got in our daily exercise and enjoyed being in the great outdoors together.

As cold as it was, it was still a great way to start the week.

Love the shades of purple on the Organ Mountains. Especially the last photo.
