Turn the Wind Off, Please

Prepping for an S-curve
Low 20s Fahrenheit when Becca and I hit the trail west of Tortugas Mountain this morning with a biting wind that never quite subsided during our trek.  I wore a fleece-lined heavy hooded anorak with an ear band beneath a substantial ball cap, gloves and warm winter hiking clothes, and I never peeled off any layers during our ninety-minute exploration.  Even though we were in the sunlight for seven-eighths of our journey it still felt pretty cold.  It would be so much better, though, if somebody would just shut the wind off.

Someone did shut off the wind eventually. Right now it's a beautiful afternoon, sunny with a slight breeze.
