Reprovision Day

Moon and cartoon Ocotillo
Even though it's reprovision day here at the ranch--and we try to get an extra-early start in the morning--Becca and I were a bit tardy heading out to Tortugas Mountain.  On the foothills trail we bumped into a friendly mountain biker--Chris--who talked with us for quite a while.  (In truth I've yet to meet a mountain biker who wasn't friendly.)  And on our final leg back to the car we ran into our pal Raymond and hiked with him on the final stretch.  It was an awesome morning in the desert:  49F at start with plenty of sun and the slightest of breezes.  A good time was had by all.
My what spines you have (a few buds, too)

Dry and dusty

Cloud slivers

Up the long dirt road

There's that cloud again

Looking toward the Organs

That's Picacho Peak in the background

Doña Anas in the distance

Spectacle Pod (Dimorphocarpa wislizeni) is blooming again

The name is self-explanatory
