Chance of Snow

Peewee
Becca and I got an early start on a short hike this morning.  Not sure what it was--the weather, perhaps--but neither she nor I seemed much in the mood for a trek.  Consulting the weather forecast prior to departing home we saw that there was a good chance of light snow while we were out near Tortugas Mountain, and, indeed, much of the time it looked as if it could start falling at any moment.  It held off until we got back to Whitey the CR-V, but then it was only small snow pellets that melted upon impact.

Later, however, when I came out of Target after some grocery shopping, big flakes were falling steadily, aided by a strong wind.  After I stowed shopping bags of food in the rear compartment of the Jeep and headed over to Albertsons to buy a few additional items not available at Target I felt as if I was a kid again trekking through a near blizzard in my native state of Ohio.  By the time I exited Albertsons the snow had stopped and its only trace was a very wet parking lot surface.

I like the two very different photos of the ramshackle shack.
