Dirt Road Trek

This and the next:  photos taken while bushwhacking
Frio, Willow and I did a hike very similar to ones we've taken in the recent past:  up the long dirt road, east into the desert to bushwhack into the hills west of Tortugas Mountain, across to the southernmost east/west dirt road and then down into an arroyo we've already explored many times.

We climbed out of the arroyo onto a long disused dirt road--only today there was evidence that the road was used as recently as yesterday:  tire tracks that indicate somebody drove a truck or SUV out of the main east/west arroyo and up the tributary arroyo that leads to the disused dirt road.  Moron.

From there the Heelers and I hiked back to the east/west dirt road, retraced our steps and bushwhacked through the desert back to the long dirt road.  Then it was our daily slog back up to the waiting CR-V.  All things considered it was a good hike even though the temperature was rising quickly.
