1st 2: view from LDR-A arroyo
|
This morning, for the first time, we had a loose-dog encounter with the Basset people and their hounds. Usually we spot them easily and make sure to avoid any type of interaction. But today they were in the Tellbrook Arroyo just as we were about to head up the left branch, and both our heelers started for them.
Fortunately Dr. K was able to corral Willow, but Mr. Frio made his way into the arroyo and had a not-too-private tête-à-tête with four or five Bassets. Lots of barking and snarling, but no physical confrontation. Fortunately the man and woman guardians of the hounds were understanding and not put off by the melee. I let them know that Frio's deaf and wouldn't respond to me unless he saw me; he was too preoccupied with the meet-and-greet of strange canines.
After the scrum we all went our merry ways.
