Frio's Rainbow

1st 2:  heading down LDR-A
We nearly did the entire trek without being battered too severely by the incoming windstorm; but by the time we entered the upper reaches of the right branch arroyo the assault began.  When we reached the crest of the hill west of the arroyo we couldn't even see the Organ Mountains because of all the dust.

We drove to Circle K to gas up the CR-V after our outing; I was pushed around by the wind while I pumped fuel.  We took a drive afterward, both Dr. K and I astonished by the force of the gusts; things were blowing around in every neighborhood we drove through.

On the way home it began to rain, and we spotted a rainbow forming.  Dr. K called it "Frio's Rainbow," and by the time we reached our place it had become a double.  When we stepped out of the CR-V I stood in the driveway fighting wind and rain to photograph the rainbow.  I sure hope Frio's waiting on the other side with all of our beloved animals:  Sara, Chappy, George, Tiger, Parker and Becca.
