Not So Happy Hike

1st 2:  desert to the southwest

Hard to describe (without tearing up) how terribly hard it is to not have Frio with us.  It's good to have Willow out there on the morning hike, but we all feel the absence of our best buddy.

A little chilly for our daily trek; I wore an earband and gloves most of the way.  We didn't see anybody until we were about to descend the middle branch arroyo when we heard voices.  It was the Basset people on a ridge east of us descending toward the Tellbrook Arroyo with their hounds.
