Mountaintop

I took 74 photos on our hike to the top of Tortugas Mountain this morning, so I thought it only appropriate to share a few more. This tiny Devil's Head--approximately one inch in diameter--was growing in a rock crevice.
This tarantula never moved even when I took a macro shot of it; the spider was about three inches long.
The white rocks in the foreground and middle ground are painted white by college students; the rocks form the huge letter "A" that adorns the west face of the mountain.
Another panoramic view of the gorgeous Organ Mountains.
The old observatory and a canine celestial body.
