New Way

Research Associate Becca and I took a different route this morning on the sunset side of Tortugas Mountain, an alternate dirt road that took us even further west of the mountain. This yucca--which, even at a distance seemed to be unusually tall--caught our eye. The telephoto shot shows the agricultural area in the Mesilla Valley in the background.
We hiked over to the yucca (had to do a little bushwhacking to get there) and discovered it was a skyscraper, a regular 2X Shaquille O'Neal--probably about 15 feet tall.
This is the dirt road we followed.
How we love our Organ Mountains vistas.
A little more distant view of Tortugas Mountain.
