Doughnut-Hole Hike

Getting a late start
Becca and I were about 1 1/2 hours later than usual on our morning hike because it was raining.  When I checked the weather radar on the computer just before nine I saw that we had about an hour window of opportunity to do a short trek.  We started off at the midway point on the north side of Tortugas Mountain, hiked for half an hour out and half an hour back before heading home.  As soon as we got into the car it started raining again.  It's been raining on and off all day since.
Half-and-half

Muddier than it looks

The mountains will have more snow by tomorrow

Sun trying to get out

Yucca and boulder

House-sized boulder

Where the real power is

Back behind Tortugas

The symbolic "doughnut hole"

Craggy cliff

Another weather system rolling in

Almost back to the car
