No Coyote

Ocotillo Moon
Becca and I headed immediately for the area west of Tortugas Mountain where we had encountered a "forlorn" Coyote yesterday morning.  He/she wasn't there, and we heard no yelping or howling during our long hike.  The only critters we saw on our trek were birds and a few Black-tailed Jackrabbits (like the one pictured below).  As we were headed in from the outback we heard a distant calling from the road to the mountaintop.  It was our friend Gregg who had spotted us from his elevated perch and wanted to let us know he'd seen us from a great distance.

I really like the arrangement of the Ocotillo Moon photo (and I like that photo caption, too).
