Uneventful Trek

Becca always spots somebody on the mountain road
Becca and I did a moderately-long, uneventful hike this morning west of Tortugas Mountain.  We got a really early start so we were able to hike in the shadow of the mountain for quite a distance.  On our way back we saw our buddy Gregg hiking on the road to the crest.  We yelled greetings to one another before going our separate ways.  Earlier we encountered that runner pictured below, and we ran into him a second time as we were finishing up our final leg.  He had jogged around the entire mountain and was heading west down Geothermal Road.

I'm guessing "large dog"

It's amazing that the nipple beehive cactus is blooming again--I guess that's because we've had a lot of rain. Very pretty flowers.
