Revisiting the Scene

The outside chance we'd see yesterday's coyote:  0%
Becca and I got an early start on a morning trek west of Tortugas Mountain.  My intent was to return to the scene of yesterday's coyote encounter to see if we'd luck out and come upon any Tricksters.  Unsurprisingly, we didn't.  There have been a few times over many years where we'd actually run across coyotes two days in a row, but those occasions were few and far between.  Nevertheless, we had a nice trek, doing a little bushwhacking during our outing.  I noticed that a few Lyreleaf Jewelflowers were beginning to bloom; they are among the plants earliest in revealing their floral finery.  We also discovered a flycatcher that simply refused to sit still long enough for me to capture a good image.  If it had turned around I could have ID'd it with certainty, but I'm fairly sure it was an Ash-throated Flycatcher.
