Frio Solo

I took Frio on a hike without Willow this morning because I have yet to buy a coupling device so I can lead them in tandem.  If I employ two leads I won't be able to take any photographs.  Frankly I'm not even sure how a coupler will work with them although on their previous three hikes together they often strolled side-by-side.

Frio and I did a long trek west of Tortugas Mountain today, replete with plenty of bushwhacking.  On the single-track that intersects the mountain road we saw a guy jogging uphill.  I waved to him and he waved back.  Frio was interested in the guy, but didn't bark once.  Later we both noticed a mountain biker in the near distance, and, again, Frio did not bark.

We saw nobody in the outback while bushwhacking, and only encountered a fellow hiker when we'd nearly finished our outing.  He's a guy I see fairly often west of the mountain, a very friendly type who always says, "Good morning."  Today, after we greeted each other, and Frio barked at him several times, I explained that Frio was a new dog.  The man simply smiled and waved 'so long.'

Stopped to get gas in the CR-V on the way home, and Frio picked up with the barking again, expressing his displeasure with people walking too near our vehicle.  He didn't go on too long, though, and immediately ceased as soon as we got on the road.
