Awesome Weather

When we walked through this arroyo the air was definitely colder
Dr. K, the Heelers and I went around to the Monte Vista side of Tortugas Mountain this morning for a moderately long hike.  We ran into one mountain biker on the first leg of the trek, who, when Frio barked at him a few times as he passed, said, jokingly, "Don't heel me."

It was a brilliant day in our section of the northern Chihuahuan Desert, and we're slated to hit a high of 72F this afternoon.  Because of the warmth both Dr. K and I were forced to remove one layer of outerwear midway through our outing.

Just as we were almost finishing our hike we ran into an elderly woman to whom I apologized in advance for any barking coming from Frio; he, of course, obliged, but not excessively.  The woman said something to us that neither Dr. K nor I could make out.  At least she was smiling when she said it.
