Mr. Frio and his shadow |
Early this morning Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I did a neighborhood walk, the second in two days. We were lucky to get yesterday's in because of the all-day rainy conditions. Today, after our neighborhood jaunt, I took Frio on a long trek; we left from the Monte Vista side of Tortugas Mountain and hiked all the way around to the far west side.
Today we had encounters with a woman hiking with her dog, an elderly couple on the south side of the mountain, a mountain biker, and, when we were on the very last leg of our outing, four people walking with two dogs. Except for his barking at the elderly couple Frio was pretty well behaved. I gave him a lot of treats out there today, and he seemed to appreciate each and every one.
On our return to Whitey the CR-V I saw that our bud Jimmy's Tacoma was parked in front of us, and I gave him a call to say I was sorry we'd missed bumping into him. He said as we drove home we would see him up on the northside trail heading west on the mountain, and indeed we did--both of us waving to each other as Frio and I passed by.

Beautiful photos, Packrat. I especially like the 2 photos of the reflection in the puddle. Frio is such a handsome dog.
