Avoiding the Wind

1st 6:  Tortugas and the Organ Mountains
Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I were able to get in a full hike without being battered too much by the wind.  If we were out there now (almost 2:15 p.m.) we'd be in dire straits; winds are gusting to almost 70 mph in some areas.

As might be imagined by those not living in the desert we have blowing sand and dust in the air now, and the feeling of having something in the upper air passages of the lungs is palpable.
