Hawk Hike

Cactus Wren in Torrey Yucca
Cold hike again this morning, but we lucked out and only got a strong breeze right at the end.  We saw no other brave outdoor enthusiasts today.

We followed our regular route, getting a surprise when we scaled the steep hill west of the right branch arroyo:  a hawk perched on an ocotillo in the distance far west of us.  I took some poor photos of it from there.

Driving carefully along the upper flatland road, I was able to stop occasionally to take other photos, the last of which were from a spot at the side of Tellbrook Road where I'd pulled over for the express purpose of photographing the raptor--a Red-tailed Hawk.
