Absolutely Frigid

Willow bushwhacking
15F when Dr. K, Willow and I started off this morning, and a slight breeze--despite brilliant sunshine--made it feel far worse.

Conditions were so bad, in fact, that we drastically abbreviated the hike; we started down the LDR-A arroyo, but quickly bushwhacked east over to the right branch arroyo.

From there we hiked up and out over the steep hill just east of the trailhead where Whitey, the warm CR-V, was waiting.

Later, when I returned from grocery shopping at Albertsons, it was still just 23F outside.
