Sunday's Cold Stroll

Tortugas and the Organs
Even though it was warmer this morning (40F) than yesterday morning a strong, cold wind made conditions feel far worse.  We were dressed appropriately, though; I even had the hood up on my LL Bean lined parka to keep the cold off my neck.

Midway down LDR-A arroyo we spotted the Basset people and their hounds on the ridge east of us, and a bit later--just when we started up the left branch arroyo--we realized we'd have a fairly close encounter with them.

The hounds barked at us, but we weren't near enough to worry about bumping into them; Mr. Basset and I waved to each other while going in opposite directions.  They were the only outdoor enthusiasts we saw during our trek.

After the hike we drove over to our local Circle K to gas up Whitey the CR-V, taking a short ride afterwards.
