We were standing in this arroyo--marveling at the torrential water that must have rushed here and cut through the earth three or four times wider than usual--when we met two women who were BLM volunteers. They told us that really heavy rain had inundated the mountain, causing much destruction. They suggested we hike up to the waterfall because it was running hard and fast.
The canyon was incredibly lush here, lusher than we had seen it before.
The Morning Glories close to the waterfall were easily three inches in diameter.
At the waterfall the water came down in a torrent.
The proliferation of green plant life made us feel as if we were in Colorado rather than in the Chihuahuan Desert of southern New Mexico.

It really does look like Colorado.
That's a gorgeous picture of the waterfall.
