Hiking on Hump Day

Foothills of Tortugas (Tortoise) Mountain
It was a very dynamic morning today, even though we got bypassed by the severe storms that were supposed to have come last night.  It was genuinely cool, with a stiff breeze to add a slight wind chill.  Very few people were in the outback.  We saw only one heavy-set jogger who was moving at a pretty good clip.  The scenery was especially beautiful due to the cloud shadows that passed quickly over the landscape.
