Just Over the Hump

What does this look mean?
37 degrees Fahrenheit when Becca and I headed out this morning.  Brrrr!  Quite cold for this time of year in the Chihuahuan Desert.  We are supposed to heat up quickly, though, heading for the low 90s by this weekend.  It was very pleasant out there, however, and I slipped out of my jacket after a mile or so, stripping down to my Craghoppers (Bear Grylls) short-sleeve shirt and cargo hiking shorts.  Perfect weather.  Becca looked smart in her moisture-resistant coat of white with assorted black spots and dots.

Great photos of the kingbird swallowing the cicada.

Very nice cicada-eating sequence! The images are well composed, clear and dramatic.

Thanks Dr. K and Scott. Geez, I've got to think that bird was setting itself up for some major dyspepsia.
