Memorial Day Hike

Curve-billed Thrasher in a Torrey Yucca
The weather was surprisingly cool this morning, overcast with a strong wind.  The air felt humid, too, although the meteorologists aren't predicting any rain.  Becca and I did a moderately-long hike around Tortugas, and even though the lot at the Sunset Parking area was already full when we got there we didn't run into anybody on the trail.  It was very pleasant having such weather conditions in late May in the Chihuahuan Desert.  I'll try to remember how it felt when we're sweltering in the middle of the week.
