Sunday Outing

Hummingbird in our backyard
Dr. K, Becca and I did a long hike around Tortugas Mountain this morning, starting out from the Monte Vista side.  We only encountered one guy hiking behind the mountain--good for a Memorial Day weekend--and on our way back we spotted a biker about an eighth mile ahead of us carrying his bike.  A biker carrying his bike is never good news.  The weather was beautiful, and a good time was had by all--especially Becca.  Probably not the biker, though.

When the Prickly Pear flower fades . . .

. . . the "pear" (tuna in Spanish) begins to form
