Sunday Trekking

Getting started behind Tortugas
Although it was 19F when we headed out this morning, and even though there was an intermittent breeze behind Tortugas Mountain, Dr. K, Becca and I had a nice long hike in the desert around the Tortoise.  We saw three mountain bikers and a hiker in the outback, but we encountered no one.  We ran into our buddy Jimmy on the way back--something Becca always likes to do.  Jimmy had parked his truck in the Monte Vista lot and was headed to the top of the mountain via the old mining trail on the east side.
