Heading High

Toasty already in the Chihuahuan Desert
Becca and I did a fairly quick hike in the lower desert this morning before returning home to finish packing (Dr. K and me, that is) in order to head up to High Rolls in the Sacramento Mountains.  The idea is to escape the scorching heatwave that's just beginning here in the Desert Southwest, but we're supposed to hit 86F up here this afternoon, which is a pretty high temperature for 7,000 feet.  It's going to get hotter in the coming days, and even a few low 90s are in the upcoming forecast.  Drat!
There's a dog in this photo

It's supposed to be over 100 degrees the next few days in the low desert, so I'm glad we're up here in the mountains for a bit.
