Stewed Trekkers

Just missed this Devil's Head blooming
Becca and I started off early this morning in relatively cool weather:  an overcast sky, nice breeze and high humidity.  We were fortunate in that these conditions lasted about three-fourths of the way through our hike.  Then the sun came out, and in short order we began to feel like two tomatoes stewing in a pot of boiling water.  I had already planned to cut our trek short because we're headed for a high of 95F today, and boy were we ever happy to get back to the car after our abbreviated hike.

I like how you have the same photo in color and in black-in-white--interesting contrast.
