Another Day in the Desert

Take me to your leader
Dr. K, the Heelers and I went for a hike west of Tortugas Mountain early this morning under weather conditions that promised rain in the near future.  We were fortunate not to get wet while bushwhacking alongside Geothermal Road; if we were out there now (1:37 p.m.) we'd definitely get soaked.

We avoided one encounter with people hiking with a dog just as we started off today, but we nearly bumped into a guy running with his Weimaraner on the final leg of our trek.  The loose Weimaraner stopped to look over at Frio and Willow, but we distracted our Heelers with treats.  Willow never reacted to the strange hound, but Frio barked a time or two.  Dr. K and I felt pretty good about this chance meeting.

Listening to the rain pattering on the patio enclosure roof right now and hoping I don't have to let the Heelers out in overly wet conditions.
