After Some Rain

Joan Jett and the Heelers
After yesterday's early evening rain the atmosphere this morning was fairly saturated with humidity, and, at first, the weather conditions made for some unpleasant hiking conditions for Dr. K, Willow, Frio and me.  Fortunately a light breeze picked up to help greatly with evaporative cooling.  I'm still uncertain whether dogs benefit from the air circulating across their extended tongues.

We heard, saw and encountered the same dirt bike rider as yesterday; his presence is an annoyance even though he's a responsible biker, and a friendly one.  I never like the sound of an internal combustion engine in the outback, especially the whiny engines on dirt bikes and ATVs.

We saw nobody else on our morning outing, which we enjoyed despite the engine noise.

I really like those photos of the Fishhook Barrel Cactus. I wish there were more of them in this section of the desert.
