A Trip and a Fall

Headed down LDR-A arroyo right before the trip and fall
While we were hiking down the LDR-A arroyo Ms. Willow cut right in front of me, which resulted in a trip and a fall.  I nearly went face down into the desert sand, but broke my fall by putting both hands out in pushup fashion.  Fortunately no cacti were growing in the area.  Although I feel a bit sore from the tumble no serious damage was done.

We continued on with our normal route, and I was able to get some good photos of blooming Hedgehog Cactus flowers; there are quite a few flowering now.

We had to take Willow to the vet for an appointment this morning because we thought she might have a urinary tract infection, but a test of her urine came out negative.

I love those photos of the Claret Cup cactus flowers; my favorite is the 3rd one. And those yucca flowers are growing quickly--it's nice to see the progress.
