Frigid Trek

Ridge west of the Organ Mountains
27F with a windchill of 19F when we started off this morning.  Despite the sunshine the steady wind made it feel slightly worse than yesterday.

The Ohs didn't seem to mind the cold at all as we proceeded to do our regular hike, but Dr. K and I were using expletives to describe our feelings about the weather.

At times, when we were sheltered from the wind it seemed quite bearable out there; but as soon as we were battered by the wind again we froze.

Hard to explain how great it felt to get out of the elements and back into the heated comfort of the CR-V.

I like the images of the Mesquite tree, especially the second one.
