Air Quality

Desert Marigold
During the first part of our hike Dr. K and I noticed that the sky seemed somewhat cloudy, even though it wasn't supposed to be cloudy this morning.  We began to wonder whether the fire in the Gila National Forest was funneling smoke in our direction.

We did our usual trek today, and all involved--Dr. K, Willow, Frio and me--enjoyed the outing.  Due to the cloud cover (smoke, perhaps) the temperature was noticeably cooler than yesterday.

I got some nice photos of desert plants in bloom during our peregrinations, and we even spotted a Hedgehog Cactus sporting fruit we'd never noticed before.

Beautiful images of the desert flowers. My favorite is the close-up of the Ocotillo flower.
