Nice Hike, but Hot

Cutleaf Globe Berry
Dr. K, Willow and I did the usual trek this morning.  It was a pleasant outing, but hot; we're headed for a high of 102F.

A vehicle was parked at the corner lot above the upper flatland road to the trailhead, but we saw nobody else hiking in the desert.

Spotted a flighty Ladder-backed Woodpecker while trudging up the left branch arroyo, but I could never get a decent photo of it.

It's so dry in the desert that ocotillo leaves are already turning yellow.  We need rain, and we need it now.
