Because of extreme fire danger, the Lincoln National Forest is closed to all uses: no hiking, biking, camping, etcetera. Therefore, we were forced to hike down Fresnal Canyon Road to get our exercise this morning. It was quite a workout coming back up the road, but it was a poor substitute for actually hiking on a trail. The forest is closed until further notice, which, considering that there is no rain in the forcast, could be for quite a spell.

At least the views were scenic.
