Top of the Week

Tortugas Mountain from the west
102 days without precipitation.  At least we had some clouds today, lending to the dynamic look of the landscape.  It was pretty hot at 8:00 a.m., but we got in a long hike before the wind started.  The wind has lasted much longer than usual this Spring, making me wonder if we're returning to the Dust Bowl days of yore.  This week we're already under a wind warning for Tuesday through Thursday.  Yipee.

Let's hope we're not returning to the dustbowl days, but you never know with climate change.

According to the forecast we're hoping for some rain up here around Wed/Thurs... hopefully that'll extend to your area too!

Btw, I love that picture of the oriole. The black and yellow feathers are stunning!
