Skirting a Storm

As we got started we looked east toward the Organ Mountains

Northeast El Paso was already getting hammered when Becca and I set off for Tortugas this morning, and the storms were moving northwest up along the Organ Mountains.  Before we reached the Sunset Parking area we could see the rain pouring down at the base of the mountains.  Fortunately, we were able to get in a moderately-long hike without getting soaked.  We only got sprinkled on for three-fourths of our trek.  On the drive home we heard two radio notifications from the Office of Emergency Management stating that people in northeast El Paso seeking shelter could find it at a particular school in that part of town.
