Skirting a Storm

As we got started we looked east toward the Organ Mountains
Northeast El Paso was already getting hammered when Becca and I set off for Tortugas this morning, and the storms were moving northwest up along the Organ Mountains.  Before we reached the Sunset Parking area we could see the rain pouring down at the base of the mountains.  Fortunately, we were able to get in a moderately-long hike without getting soaked.  We only got sprinkled on for three-fourths of our trek.  On the drive home we heard two radio notifications from the Office of Emergency Management stating that people in northeast El Paso seeking shelter could find it at a particular school in that part of town.
Skies were a little less threatening toward the southwest

Clouds rolling toward Tortugas (we began to get sprinkled on)

Where Tortugas (left) blocks the view the rain was pouring down

We've got to get out of here

This "wash" may be running soon

That pink flower's got some funky tripartite petals! Neat plant!

If you got rain, maybe you've tipped over the small annual deficit you reported earlier and now are in positive territory.

You know, I've IDd that flower before, Scott, but I cannot find it now. Boy did we get rain! See the latest post if you haven't already.
