Rainstorm Redux

At the start it looked as if it could rain at any minute

The overnight hours were almost an identical repeat of yesterday; Becca woke me at about 2:30 am because of lightning and thunder.  I had to get up at 2:45 because the rain was pouring down.  It lasted a good while longer than the day before.  This time Dr. K came out to sit with us, hugging Becca and scratching her chest to take her mind off her fear.  When the thunder and lightning stopped, Becca was good to go back to sleep.  We did likewise, though I always have a bit of trouble dropping off again after being awake in the middle of the night.

We're in the high country now.  We reached our place in the Sacramento Mountains at about 12:30 pm, and it was pouring down rain here.  I had to unpack the CR-V in the storm because it was obvious the precip wasn't going to let up for hours, and we had yet to eat lunch.
