Flash Flood Watch

A really large Hedgehog Cactus
The humidity was incredibly high all through the nighttime hours and into this morning, which made our trek pretty miserable for Becca and me.  Our area is under a flash flood watch, which means flooding is a possibility given the prospect of heavy rains.  Although we didn't abbreviate the hike significantly we could easily have shortened it more and benefited from the move.  Still, we didn't suffer too much, and were happy to be out in the beautiful northern Chihuahuan Desert.  By the way, regarding the yucca pictured below:  while it isn't rare to see a yucca blooming at this time it is fairly unusual for a small Soaptree Yucca to be blossoming in mid- to late-September.
