Becca and I got an early start on the east side of Tortugas Mountain this morning, but we did run into other nature enthusiasts who were out there as well: a runner, a mountain biker and two hikers. Those encounters happened on the outbound leg, and we saw nobody else after that. It's supposed to be significantly cooler today, but, what with the additional humidity, it still felt pretty toasty. I only extended the hike by a small distance because neither Becca nor I were completely enthusiastic about the conditions. We're to be in the 80s for the coming week, but chances for precipitation have risen.

Like Becca, I enjoy walking in arroyos (as long as there isn't a threat of a flash flood!).
